1.8V SC70 OP AMPS CONSUME 100µA AND DRIVE 2k OHM LOADS WITH 0.017% THD+N
SUNNYVALE, CA—January 22, 2000—Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX4291 op amp with Rail-to-Rail® inputs and output packaged in a 5-pin SC70. This device consumes only 100µA of supply current, yet drives a 2k ohms load and achieves an open-loop gain of 120dB. Its robust three-stage design makes no compromises between specs, size, or power.
Operating from a single +1.8V to +5.5V supply, this op amp delivers 20,000 hours of operation from two alkaline AA cells. A power-supply rejection ratio of 100dB allows the op amp to be powered directly from a single lithium cell or from two to three NiCd, NiMH, or alkaline cells without producing excessive output error as the cell voltage decays. The MAX4291 achieves a 500kHz bandwidth and is capable of driving a minimum of 2k ohms to within 3mV of each supply rail.
Superior open-loop gain, load driving capability, and a good input offset voltage of 400µV make the MAX4291 well suited for buffering references.
The MAX4291 is offered in a 5-pin SOT23 package as well as the space-saving 5-pin SC70. Prices start from $0.46 (1000-up, factory direct, FOB USA).
