INDUSTRY'S SMALLEST LOW-EMI, 3V, ALL-SILICON CLOCK OSCILLATOR EASES DESIGN AND CUTS COSTS

DALLAS, TX—October 24, 2003—Dallas Semiconductor (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the DS1086L spread-spectrum EconOscillator™, the industry's smallest low-EMI, 3V, all-silicon clock oscillator. With six user-programmable spread settings from 0% to 8%, it offers up to 23dB reduction in radiated emissions (RMS voltage) relative to crystal oscillators.

The DS1086L can be used as a stand-alone oscillator to generate clock outputs from 4.9kHz to 66MHz. It has a power-down mode and an output-enable control for power-sensitive applications. The DS1086L can simplify or eliminate shielding and filtering while reducing cost and minimizing design time.

The DS1086L operates in the 2.7 to 3.6V range and is available in the tiny 8-pin µSOP. Pricing begins at $.90 (1000-up, FOB USA).

EconOscillator is a trademark of Dallas Semiconductor.
