LVD/SE SCSI TERMINATOR FROM DALLAS SEMICONDUCTOR HAS TIGHTEST VREF LIMITS AVAILABLE

DALLAS, TX-July 14, 2003-Dallas Semiconductor (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the DS2127 low-voltage differential (LVD)/single-ended (SE) SCSI terminator, fully compliant with SCSI SPI-3, SPI-4, Ultra160, and Ultra320 specifications.

The DS2127 offers VREF limits of 2.7V to 3.0V, which is better centered on the SCSI specification than any other terminator. The minimum DIFFSENSE output current of 100µA is higher than any other SCSI terminator, greatly reducing the possibility of a mode-change due to noise.

The DS2127 automatically changes modes and disconnects from the bus when it senses a high-voltage-differential bus master and connects to the bus when it detects an LVD or SE bus master. A built-in mode-change delay prevents erroneous mode changes caused by glitches or short pulses on the DIFF_CAP pin.

The DS2127 is available in a 48-pin LQFP package. Prices start at $2.47 (1000-up, FOB USA).
