±15kV ESD-PROTECTED, 20Mbps, 3.3V TRANSMITTERS ARE IDEAL FOR RS-485/RS-422 COMMUNICATION
SUNNYVALE, CA-February 19, 2003-Maxim Integrated Products
(NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX3293/MAX3294/MAX3295 low-power, high-speed transmitters. The ±15kV ESD protection makes these devices ideal for RS-485/RS-422 communication and clock distribution. These devices contain one differential transmitter. The MAX3295 transmitter operates at data rates up to 20Mbps, with an output skew of less than 5ns and driver propagation delay guaranteed below 25ns. The MAX3293 (250Kbps) and MAX3294 (2.5Kbps) are slew-rate limited to minimize EMI and reduce reflections caused by improperly terminated cables. The ±15V ESD protection eliminates costly external ESD protection devices, while the hot-swap feature allows live insertion without erroneous data transfer.
The MAX3293/MAX3294/MAX3295 operate from a 3.3V single supply and consume less than 5mA when unloaded. These devices are available in a 6-pin SOT23 package and are specified for the industrial and automotive temperature ranges. Prices start at $0.72 (1000-up, FOB USA).
