DUAL COMPARATORS WITH 6ppm/°C REFERENCE DRAW JUST 55µA
SUNNYVALE, CA—November 10, 1999—Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX9042/MAX9043/MAX9052/MAX9053 dual comparators with Rail-to-Rail inputs and outputs plus an on-board precision reference in a single µMAX (MSOP, 3.0mm x 5.0mm) package. Ideal for battery voltage monitoring, these precision devices maximize battery life by eliminating premature end-of-life readings common in voltage monitors with large errors. The internal reference offers 0.4% initial accuracy (A-grade only) with a 6ppm/°C temperature coefficient, and the comparator has a fast 300ns propagation delay while consuming a miserly 55micro;A of supply current. The reference can sink or source 500µA and is stable with any capacitive load up to 4.7nF.
The MAX9042/MAX9043 operate from a +2.5V to +5.5V supply and provide a reference voltage of 2.048V, which represents a 500µV LSB in 12-bit systems. The MAX9052/MAX9053 operate from a +2.7V to +5.5V supply and provide a 2.500V reference voltage. All comparators feature internal hysteresis and crowbar current limiting, which reduces current consumption while switching at high frequencies.
The MAX9042/MAX9052 are offered in space-saving 8-pin µMAX® and SO packages, and the MAX9043/MAX9053 come in 10-pin µMAX packages. Prices start from $1.23 (B-grade, 1000-up, FOB USA).
