DALLAS SEMICONDUCTOR'S 3V AND 5V DELAY LINES ARE 50% SMALLER THAN THE COMPETITION

DALLAS, TX—September 25, 2002—Dallas Semiconductor (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the DS1100-500, the industry's first 500ns delay all-silicon 5-tap delay line available in the tiny 8-pin µSOP package. The addition of the DS1100-500 to the DS1100 family provides delays of 4ns to 100ns per tap and up to 500ns total delay with both leading- and trailing-edge accuracy.

The DS1100 is a higher performance, drop-in replacement for the industry-standard DS1000 delay line. New-generation technology allows calibration improvements, giving twice the delay precision with an 80% reduction in jitter. The DS1100 offers five equally spaced taps that give delays up to five times the input-pulse width while maintaining delay precision. Accuracy is specified over both commercial and industrial temperature ranges.

Two versions are available: the DS1100 (5V) and the DS1100L (3V). The DS1100 is available in an 8-pin DIP, 8-pin SO, and 8-pin µSOP. The DS1100L is available in an 8-pin SO and 8-pin µSOP. Prices start at $2.20 (1000-up, FOB USA).
