QUAD 3.0GHz LVECL-TO-LVPECL TRANSLATORS WITH INTEGRATED INPUT AND OUTPUT TERMINATIONS
SUNNYVALE, CA-February 26, 2002-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX9420-MAX9423, the latest members of the Maxim ECL/PECL family of translators. The MAX9420-MAX9423 are quad 3.0GHz LVECL-to-LVPECL translators, which accept four differential LVECL signals and translate them to differential LVPECL output signals. The four channels can be operated synchronously with an external clock, or independently determined by the state of the SEL input. Integrated input and output termination reduces external component counts. The MAX9420 has open inputs and open-emitter outputs. The MAX9421 has open inputs and 50 -series outputs. The MAX9422 has 100 differential input impedance and open-emitter outputs. The MAX9423 has 100 differential input impedance and 50 -series outputs. Inherent low-jitter performance (0.6ps) and low channel-to-channel skew (17ps) are ideal for clock and data distribution applications in automatic test equipment, central office switches, networking switches and routers, and SONET/SDH communication applications where signal and clock integrity is critical.
The MAX9420MAX9423 operate from two supplies: -2.0V to -3.6V for VEE and 2.375V to 3.6V for VCC, and are specified for operation from -40°C to +85°C. They are available in 32-pin 5mm x 5mm TQFP and 5mm x 5mm thermally enhanced QFN packages. Prices start at $17.46 (1000-up, FOB USA).
