NEW 330mW BTL AUDIO AMPLIFIERS DELIVER LOW 0.02% THD + N IN A TINY 8-PIN SOT23 PACKAGE
SUNNYVALE, CA-February 26, 2002-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX4366/MAX4367/MAX4368 family of bridge tied load (BTL) audio amplifiers in a variety of tiny, space-saving packages. These amplifiers deliver up to 330mW into 32Ω from a single supply, have very low 0.02% THD, and operate down to 2.3V, making them ideal for portable audio applications such as cellphones and PDAs.
The MAX4366/MAX4367/MAX4368 family of devices combines single-supply operation (2.3V to 5.5V), very low THD + N (0.02%), tiny packaging (as small as 1.5mm x 1.5mm), and low power consumption (2mA). The BTL output stage provides four times the power of a conventional single-ended amplifier and eliminates the need for large-output coupling capacitors. The MAX4366/MAX4367/MAX4368 also feature a low-power shutdown mode, clickless/popless operation, internal DC bias generation, and thermal overload protection. The MAX4366 is an adjustable gain amplifier offering improved performance and pin-to-pin compatibility with the LM4864. The MAX4367/MAX4368 feature internally preset gains of 2V/V and 3V/V, respectively. All devices are available in space-saving 3x3 UCSP (1.5mm x 1.5mm), 8-pin SOT23 (3mm x 3mm), 8-pin QFN (3mm x 3mm), and 8-pin µMAX (3mm x 5mm) packages.
