25ppm/°C SHUNT VOLTAGE REFERENCE FITS IN 2mm x 2mm SC70 PACKAGE

SUNNYVALE, CA-December 4, 2001-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX6138, a two-terminal shunt mode precision voltage reference. This miniature device fits in a tiny 3-pin SC70 (2mm x 2mm), uses 40% less board space than the industry-standard LM4040, and improves the temperature coefficient by four times to 25ppm/°C maximum.

The advanced design of the MAX6138 eliminates the need for an external stabilizing capacitor, while ensuring stability with any capacitive load, thus making this device easy to use. The minimum operating current is 60µA for the MAX6138 (maximum operating current of 15mA).

The MAX6138 comes in six fixed breakdown voltages of 1.225V, 2.048V, 2.5V, 3V, 4.096V, and 5V. Three grades (A, B, and C) are offered for each device. The A-grade devices guarantee the lowest initial accuracy of 0.1%. The B-grade devices have 0.2% initial accuracy, and the C-grade devices have 0.5% initial accuracy. All have a temperature coefficient of 25ppm/°C guaranteed from -40°C to +85°C.

Prices start at $0.98 for the C grade (1000-up, FOB USA).
