LOW-POWER SERIES REFERENCE OPERATES FROM +1.8V SUPPLIES AND HAS 200mV DROPOUT
SUNNYVALE, CA-November 29, 2001-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX6018 ultra-low-power series voltage reference in a SOT23 package, guaranteed to operate from a single supply down to +1.8V while consuming less than 5mA of supply current. The MAX6018 is the lowest power voltage reference available to operate from a 1.8V supply a critical requirement in battery-powered applications where high efficiency and long run time are desired.
An output voltage option of 1.6V operating from 1.8V allows the widest dynamic range for a data converter. The MAX6018 is available in four output voltages. The 1.25V and the 1.6V output versions operate from a minimum 1.8V supply, while output voltages 1.8V and 2.048V require only a low 200mV (max) dropout voltage.
The MAX6018 comes in two accuracy grades. Initial accuracy for the A grade is 0.2%; the B grade has 0.4% initial accuracy. The output voltage change due to temperature is 50ppm/°C for both grades. No output capacitor is needed for stability, and the output is stable with capacitive loads up to 5nF.
The MAX6018 comes in a 3-pin SOT23. Prices start at $0.85 for the B grade (1000-up, FOB USA).
