LOW-POWER, 2-CHANNEL, 150ksps, 10-/12-BIT ADCs FIT IN SOT23

SUNNYVALE, CA-May 22, 2001-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX1286–MAX1289 and the MAX1086–MAX1089. These 150ksps, 2-channel, 12- and 10-bit ADCs interface directly to SPI, QSPI, and MICROWIRE devices without external logic. Ideal for portable data acquisition and battery powered applications, they combine low power operation (200µA at 150ksps, 14µA at 10ksps), excellent dynamic performance (SINAD =61dB), and high speed (150ksps) in an 8-pin SOT23 package.

The MAX1286/MAX1287 and MAX1086/MAX1087 combine a 2-channel multiplexer, internal track/hold, clock, and VDD monitor in an 8-pin SOT23 package while the MAX1288/MAX1289 and the MAX1088/MAX1089 provide a single true-differential input. Operating from either a +2.7V to +3.6V or +4.5V to +5.5V analog supply range, they consume only 200µA at 150ksps. Automatic powerdown between conversions reduces current consumption to 140µA at 100ksps and further reduces supply current to less than 7µA at data rates of 5ksps or less. The full-scale analog input range is set by an external reference in the 1V to VDD range.

The MAX1286–MAX1289 and MAX1086–MAX1089 are available in 8-pin SOT23 packages in the extended temperature range (-40°C to +85°C), with prices starting at $2.40 (1000-up, FOB USA) for the MAX1086–MAX1089 and $3.45 (1000-up, FOB USA) for the MAX1286–MAX1289.
