ULTRA-LOW POWER OCTAL 10- AND 12-BIT DACs
SUNNYVALE, CA-August 15, 2001-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the ultra-low power 10- and 12-bit MAX5306MAX5309. These new DACs are the lowest power octal 12-bit D/A converters available on the market. They are guaranteed to consume less than 1.7mA of supply current, offer extremely low glitch energy (2nV-s), and fit into the 6mm x 5mm 16-pin TSSOP package. All these features make the MAX5306MAX5309 suitable for applications where low power, low glitch, small footprint, and high integration is needed. These applications include basestations, portable equipment, process control, and optical networking.
The MAX5306MAX5309 also feature a wide +2.7V to +5.5V single-supply voltage range. A software-selectable shutdown mode drops supply current to 1µA (typ) and reduces reference input current to less than 10µA (max). The MAX5306MAX5309 have a fast 15MHz 3-wire SPI, QSPI, and MICROWIRE compatible serial interface. The power-on reset sets the DAC outputs to zero at power-up. The 10- and 12-bit devices are available with either a digital output pin (MAX5306/MAX5308) for daisy-chaining or readback, or a clear register pin (MAX5307/MAX5309) that asynchronously clears the DAC registers.
Prices for the 12-bit MAX5306 and MAX5307 start at $9.30. Prices for the 10-bit MAX5308 and MAX5309 start at $5.30. All prices are 1000-up (FOB USA).
