UNIPOLAR AND BIPOLAR INPUT, 16-/14-BIT, 200ksps, SERIAL I/O ADCs
SUNNYVALE, CA-June 7, 2001-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX1132/MAX1133 and MAX1142/MAX1143 200ksps, 16- and 14-bit ADCs. These serially interfaced ADCs connect directly to SPI, QSPI, and MICROWIRE devices without external logic. They combine an internal track/hold, a clock, a 4.096V reference, and three general-purpose digital output pins (for external multiplexer or PGA control) in a 20-pin SSOP package. The excellent dynamic performance (SINAD > 85dB), high speed (200ksps), and low power (8mA at 100ksps) of these ADCs make them ideal for applications such as industrial process control, instrumentation, and medical applications.
The MAX1132/MAX1142 accept input signals of 0 to 12V or ±12V while the MAX1133/MAX1143 accept input signals of 0 to 4.096V or ±4.096V. Operating from a single +4.5 to +5.5V analog supply and a +2.7V to +5V digital supply, they consume only 8mA at 200ksps. Software power-down modes reduce current consumption to 1mA at 10ksps and further reduce supply current to less than 20µA at slower data rates.
The MAX1132/MAX1133 and MAX1142/MAX1143 are available in 20-pin SSOP packages in both the commercial (0°C to +70°C) and extended (-40° C to +85° C) temperature ranges, with prices starting at $15.00 (1000-up, FOB USA).
