COMPLETE +5.0V MULTIPROTOCOL CHIPSET SUPPORTS V.10, V.11, V.28, AND V.35 PROTOCOLS
SUNNYVALE, CA-June 5, 2001-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MXL1543, MXL1544/MAX3175, and MXL1344A multiprotocol chipset. These devices are pin/software-selectable DCE or DTE ports that provide compatibility with the V.10, V.11 (RS-449/V.36, EIA530, EIA530-A, X.21), V.28 (RS-232), and V.35 protocols in a single connector. NET1, NET2, TBR-1, and TBR-2 compliance testing, in addition to the standards outlined above, has been performed and verified by an outside test facility.
The chipset operates from a single +5V supply and is pin-compatible with the LTC1543, LTC1544, and LTC1344A. The MXL1543 is a 3-Tx/3-Rx transceiver used to transmit high-speed clock and data signals. The MXL1544/MAX3175 is a 4-Tx/4-Rx transceiver that is intended to transmit lower speed control signals. The MXL1344A contains six termination networks designed for use with the MXL1543. The MAX3175 features glitch-rejection circuitry on the receiver inputs to facilitate unterminated operation. The MXL1543, MXL1544, and MAX3175 feature true fail-safe receiver inputs that guarantee a logic high output if the inputs are open or shorted or if the bus is idle.
The MXL1543 and MXL1544/MAX3175 are available in a 28-pin SSOP, and the MXL1344A is available in a 24-pin SSOP. All devices are offered in the commercial temperature range (0°C to +70°C) with prices starting at $17.96 (1000-up, FOB USA) for the complete three-piece chipset.
