INDUSTRY'S MOST ACCURATE AND HIGHEST RESOLUTION SPI-COMPATIBLE TEMPERATURE SENSOR IN A TINY 6-PIN SOT
SUNNYVALE, CA-May 29, 2001-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX6629 local temperature sensor. Housed in a tiny 6-pin SOT, this device measures temperature accurately to ±1°C from 0°C to +70°C, ±2.3°C from -20°C to +100°C, ±3.2°C from -40°C to +125°C, and ±6.5°C at +150°C. The MAX6629 is equipped with an internal 12-bit + sign analog-to-digital converter providing 0.0625°C resolution.
The MAX6629 performs a temperature conversion every 0.5 seconds. Temperature data from the most recent completed conversion is available over the SPI-compatible bus interface and can be read at any time.
Communication is carried out over the read-only SPI-compatible interface which can reach speeds up to 5MHz.
The MAX6629 operates with a supply voltage between 3.0V and 5.5V. The MAX6629 has an average supply current of 200µA (typ). By pulling the CS-bar pin low, all devices can be put into shutdown mode, consuming only 6µA (typ) of current. The MAX6629 operates over the military temperature range from -55°C to +125°C. Prices start at $1.10 for the MAX6629 (1000-up, FOB USA).
