LOW-POWER ANALOG-OUTPUT TEMPERATURE SENSOR OPERATES DOWN TO 1.8V
SUNNYVALE, CA-May 14, 2001-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX6607 analog-output temperature sensor. Housed in a tiny 5-pin SC70 package and consuming only 8µA (typ) of supply current, this device is ideal for portable equipment and battery-powered systems.
The MAX6607 measures temperature with ±2°C maximum accuracy from +20°C to +50°C, ±3.5°C maximum accuracy from 0°C to +70°C, and ±5°C maximum accuracy from -10°C to +85°C. The output slope is +10mV/°C and measures 500mV at 0°C. Hence, the output is positive over the entire temperature range and there is no need for a negative supply.
The output drives capacitive loads from 0 to 1000pF, which is optimal for driving the input stage of an ADC even with an external noise filtering capacitor.
The MAX6607 operates with a supply voltage between 1.8V and 3.6V. The device is offered in a 5-pin SC70 package and operates over the industrial temperature range (-20°C to +85°C). Prices start at $0.59 (1000-up, FOB USA).
