INDUSTRY'S SMALLEST RF POWER DETECTORS MEASURE ONLY ONE SQUARE MILLIMETER
SUNNYVALE, CA-May 29, 2001-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX2206/MAX2207/MAX2208 miniature RF power detectors. They are designed for application in GSM/GPRS, EDGE, TDMA/PDC, and CDMA cellular phones or power amplifier modules. The devices measure only one square millimeter making them the smallest possible solution for this function. The accuracy of the MAX2206/MAX2207/MAX2208 is factory guaranteed over temperature and voltage. This simplifies phone calibration and saves manufacturing cost.
The MAX2206/MAX2207/MAX2208 include a temperature-compensated peak detector, integrating amplifier, and shutdown circuitry in a low-cost chip-scale package. The MAX2206 is intended for GSM/GPRS and EDGE and has 40dB dynamic range. The MAX2207 has 25dB dynamic range and is intended for TDMA and PDC applications. The MAX2208 is identical to the MAX2207 except for an integrated filter, which limits the response time to 20µs making it suitable for CDMA applications.
The MAX2206/MAX2207/MAX2208 come in a 1.0mm x 1.0mm UCSP package. It is compatible with low-cost PC boards using standard design rules and via size. Small size makes the devices ideal for application in both power amplifier modules and directly on the phone PC board. Prices start at $0.50 (1000-up, FOB USA).
