DUAL/TRIPLE VOLTAGE µP SUPERVISORS MONITOR DOWN TO +0.62V
SUNNYVALE, CA-March 2, 2001-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX6701MAX6708 microprocessor (µP) supervisory circuits designed to monitor dual-voltage (MAX6704-MAX6708) and triple-voltage (MAX6701/MAX6702/MAX6703) systems. These devices monitor primary voltages from +2.5V to +5V and auxiliary voltages down to +0.62V.
Whenever VCC or reset input (MAX6701/MAX6702/MAX6703) falls below its reset threshold, the reset output asserts and remains asserted for the minimum reset timeout period of 140ms after all inputs (VCC and the reset input) rise above their reset threshold. Seven factory-set VCC reset thresholds are available from +2.19V to +4.63V. Three reset output structures are available: an active-low push-pull (MAX6701/MAX6704/MAX6705/MAX6708), an active-high push-pull (MAX6702/MAX6704/MAX6706/MAX6708), and an active-low open-drain (MAX6703/MAX6707).
The MAX6701/MAX6702/MAX6703 feature two reset inputs that allow for a second and third voltage to be monitored down to 0.62V. The MAX6704-MAX6708 have a power-fail comparator with an active-low output that allows a secondary voltage to be monitored down to +0.62V. The comparator can also be used to monitor a battery voltage or warn the system of an impending power failure. The power failure comparator is available with either a push-pull (MAX6704/MAX6705/MAX6706/MAX6708) or open-drain (MAX6707) output.
Additional features include a manual reset input (MAX6701-MA6708), a watchdog timer input (MAX6701-MAX6707), and a watchdog output (MAX6701MAX6703, MAX6705-MAX6707).
These devices are specified from -40°C to +85°C and are available in a space-saving 8-pin SOT23 package, which is 70% smaller than similar devices in an SO-8 package. Prices start at $1.38 (2500-up, FOB USA).
