DUAL-VOLTAGE µP SUPERVISORY CIRCUITS MONITOR SUPPLIES DOWN TO +0.9V
Note to editors: The MAX6826MAX6831 are the first µP supervisory circuits to monitor supplies down to +0.9V with no external components required.
SUNNYVALE, CA-January 25, 2001-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX6826-MAX6831 microprocessor (µP) supervisory circuits. The MAX6829/MAX6830/MAX6831 monitor two voltages ranging from +0.9V to +5V in µP and digital systems without the need for external components and adjustments. The MAX6826/MAX6827/MAX6828 have one fixed voltage monitor that can monitor voltages from +1.8V to +5V and one adjustable reset input that can monitor voltages down to +0.63V.
For these devices, whenever either supply voltage falls below its respective reset threshold, the reset outputs assert for at least 140ms after the supply voltage exceeds the reset threshold. Threshold accuracy is specified to be within 2.5% of the nominal voltage over the specified temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. A separate watchdog feature and a manual reset input are included for greater functionality. The watchdog timer is internally set at 1.6s, meeting the needs of most µPs/µCs.
The MAX6826/MAX6829 have an active-low, push-pull output. The MAX6827/MAX6830 have an active-high, push-pull output while the MAX6828/MAX6831 have an active-low, open-drain output. All devices are available in a small 6-pin SOT23 package. Prices start at $1.73 (2,500 or 10,000 minimum, FOB USA).
