REMOTE DIODE THERMAL SWITCHES ARE AN INDUSTRY FIRST
SUNNYVALE, CA-November 22, 2000-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX6511, MAX6512, and MAX6513 family of remote diode thermal switches. These products are the first and only remote diode temperature switches available in the industry today.
Requiring no external components, the MAX6511, MAX6512, and MAX6513 are factory-programmed to temperature thresholds from -45°C to +125°C in 5°C increments. Trip point accuracy is 0.5°C (typ) and ±3°C (max) over the temperature range +45°C to +100°C and 5°C over the temperature range +100°C to +125°C. Hysteresis is pin-selectable to 5°C or to 10°C. The MAX6511 is a CMOS output (active low), the MAX6512 is an open-drain output, and the MAX6513 is a CMOS output (active high).
These devices require less than 600µA supply current and can operate from a supply voltage ranging from +2.7V to +5.5V. With their small size, these SOT23-6 devices are ideal for use in portable equipment and space-constrained environments.
