Industry's smallest fast sample-and-hold IC enables burst-mode RSSI measurements in small GPON OLTs
Delivers High Speed and Accuracy in a 2mm x 2mm Package
SUNNYVALE, CA—October 8, 2009—Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the DS1843 fast sample-and-hold circuit in a 2mm x 2mm µDFN package. This device can capture signals of less than 300ns on its differential inputs and hold them at the output for up to 100µs. A low input offset voltage (~5mV) ensures accurate measurements. The DS1843 includes a differential, high-speed, switched-capacitor input sample stage; offset-nulling circuitry; and an output buffer. Through this integration, the IC saves considerable board space as compared to discrete approaches. The DS1843 is optimized for burst-by-burst RSSI measurement in GPON OLT systems in conjunction with an external sense resistor.
The DS1843 is fully specified over the -40°C to +85°C extended temperature range, and is packaged in a tiny, 2mm x 2mm, 8-pin µDFN. Pricing begins at $0.70 (1000-up, FOB USA).
