SUNNYVALE, CA—November 6, 2008—Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX14504/MAX14505*/MAX14505A/MAX14506* dual SPDT analog switches for multiplexing high audio-output signals with low distortion. The industry's only switches to multiplex -VCC to +VCC signals, these devices enable multiple audio signals to share a single speaker, and thus eliminate the need for a negative supply and simplify designs. Ideal for interfacing to Maxim's DirectDrive® and Class G amplifiers, these switches are also well suited for portable applications that must conserve space while preserving high-fidelity outputs.
The MAX14504/MAX14505/MAX14505A/MAX14506 feature low on-resistance (0.35Ω, typ), low supply current (11µA, typ), and a 2.3V to 5.5V supply-voltage range. Additionally, the MAX14505/MAX14505A integrate shunt resistors to reduce the click-and-pop sounds that occur when switching audio signals between precharged points.
All devices are available in a tiny, 1.5mm x 2.1mm, 12-bump WLP package and are fully specified over the -40°C to +85°C extended temperature range. Prices start at $1.03 (1000-up, FOB USA).
