The Industry's Smallest, Dual SCART Solution for Set-Top Boxes and A/V Receivers
SUNNYVALE, CA-February 14, 2006-Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ:
MXIM) introduces the MAX9595, the industry's smallest, complete, dual
SCART solution for set-top boxes and A/V receivers. The MAX9595
integrates video filters and a switch matrix in a space-saving, 7mm x
7mm TQFN-EP package. The MAX9595's dual SCART switch matrix allows
easy routing of audio and video signals between an MPEG encoder and
two external SCART connectors. The video and audio channels feature
input source-selection multiplexers, and input and output buffers for
routing all inputs to selected outputs. Standard-definition video
filters are integrated on all video outputs. The device also
generates monaural audio from left and right stereo inputs. All audio
drivers deliver a 3.0VRMS minimum output. The MAX9595 operates under
I2C control, and meets the requirements of EN50049-1, IEC 933-1,
Canal+, and BSkyB standards.
The MAX9595 provides full support for slow-switching and
fast-switching signals. An interrupt output indicates change on the
slow-switching signal. The MAX9595 also features clickless switching
and programmable volume control in the TV audio channel. In addition,
the device has programmable RBG gain control and contains an internal
luma and chroma (Y/C) mixer.
The MAX9595 operates with standard 5V and 12V power supplies. It is
available in a compact 7mm x 7mm, 48-pin TQFN-EP package, and is
specified over the 0 degrees Celsius to +70 degrees Celsius
commercial temperature range.
