"One-Time-Programmable" Clock Synthesizer Is Ideal for Communications Applications
SUNNYVALE, CA-February 13, 2006-Maxim Integrated
Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX9491, a
cost-effective VCXO clock generator for
communications systems such as routers and
switches. A one-time-programmable (OTP) ROM
allows programming of the PLL output, which
eliminates the need for programming the output
frequencies after each power-up cycle.
The MAX9491's integrated PLL architecture uses a
crystal or reference clock to generate clocks
from 4MHz to 200MHz. The integrated VCXO can
track the input reference by ±200ppm.
The MAX9491 is available in 20-pin TQFN and
14-pin TSSOP* packages. The device operates from
a single +3.3V supply and over the extended
temperature range (-40 degrees Celsius to +85
degrees Celsius). Prices start at $1.10 (1000-up,
