125V, 2A Half-Bridge MOSFET Drivers Are Pin-for-Pin Compatible with HIP2100 and HIP2101

 
 

SUNNYVALE, CA-April 7, 2005-Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX5062/MAX5063 high-voltage and high-speed, half-bridge MOSFET drivers capable of driving high-side and low-side n-channel MOSFETs. The MAX5062A and MAX5063A are pin-for-pin compatible with the industry standard HIP2100 and HIP2101, respectively. The high-side pin (HS pin) for both devices operates at up to 125V versus the 105V rating for competitive products. Power supplies can be designed with input voltage as high as 125V, thus ensuring sufficient safety margin for telecom power supplies that must withstand 100V or higher transients.

The MAX5062/MAX5063’s 2A peak source/sink current and low 35ns propagation delay allow the design of high-power and high-frequency power supplies. Moreover, the propagation delay matching between the high-side and low-side drivers is guaranteed to be 8ns (max). The devices’ logic inputs operate at up to +15V regardless of the V+ supply voltage. Several versions are available with the choice of TTL- or CMOS-compatible non-inverting/non-inverting or non-inverting/inverting logic inputs. The MAX5062/MAX5063 operate over the -40°C to +125°C temperature range and are available in standard 8-pin and thermally-enhanced 8-pin SO packages. Prices start at $1.43 (1000-up, FOB USA).
