New Humidity and Temperature Data-Logger iButton Monitors Perishables Anywhere
DALLAS, TX-March 17, 2005-Dallas Semiconductor (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the DS1923-F5 Hygrochron®, a humidity and temperature data logger joining the company's iButton® family of products. The monitoring of humidity sets the Hygrochron apart from competitive data loggers. When compared to competitive humidity loggers, this iButton is the smallest, lowest cost digital humidity/temperature data logger in the world.
The DS1923-F5 stores up to 8,000 data points with sample rates from 1s to 273 hours. Users can configure a start delay based on elapsed time or temperature. Humidity accuracy is at least ±5% RH with software correction; temperature accuracy is better than ±0.5 degrees Celsius with resolution up to 0.0625 degrees Celsius. Onboard password protection ensures data integrity.
The DS1923-F5 operates from 0 to 100% RH and over the -20 degrees Celsius to +85 degrees Celsius temperature range*. Life span for the device is up to one million humidity/temperature readings. It can be stopped and started as needed.
Like every iButton, the DS1923-F5 is factory lasered with a guaranteed unique, 64-bit registration number that allows absolute traceability. As it is only 16mm in diameter (the size of five stacked USA dimes) and housed in a stainless steel case, the Hygrochron is easily portable and can be mounted on almost anything including pallets, totes, freezers, or walls.
