New Temperature Data-Logger Adds High Capacity and Extra Features to Thermochron ICs
SUNNYVALE, CA-February 16, 2005-Dallas Semiconductor (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the DS1922L-F5, a high-performance, temperature data logger joining the Thermochron® family of iButton® products. Thermochron iButtons are the smallest and lowest cost, digital temperature data loggers in the industry. The DS1922L adds increased memory, accuracy, resolution, and operating range to current Thermochron products.
The DS1922L stores up to 8k data points with sample rates from 1s to 273 hours. Users can configure a start delay based on elapsed time or temperature. Accuracy is better than ±0.5°C with resolution up to 0.0625°C. This new iButton CAN design allows the DS1922 to operate for up to 30 days in 1m of water. Onboard password protection ensures data integrity.
The DS1922L operates over the -40°C to +85°C temperature range. The life span of this new data logger and all Thermochrons is up to one million temperature readings. Additionally, the Thermochron's logging mission can be stopped and started as needed, so it does not continue to run and consume the battery if you are not using the part.
Like every iButton, the DS1922L is factory lasered with a guaranteed unique, 64-bit registration number that allows absolute traceability. Its durable stainless-steel iButton package is highly resistant to environmental hazards such as dirt, moisture, and shock. iButton accessories permit the DS1922L to be mounted on almost anything including pallets, totes, freezers, or walls. As with the company's other Thermochron iButtons, the DS1922L is perfect for applications such as food and pharmaceutical safety and quality, perishable shipping verification, and environmental testing.
