All-in-One Clock Generator for Network Routers, Data-Storage Equipment, and Networking and Telecom Switches
SUNNYVALE, CA-August 25, 2004-Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX9489, a clock generator that addresses the timing requirements for network/edge routers, telecom/networking equipment, and data-storage systems. It features multi-output capability, high performance, low jitter, and low output-to-output skew.
The MAX9489 generates fifteen buffered LVTTL outputs with independent frequency selections. Through an integrated I2C interface, each output can be set to any of the ten independent, selectable frequencies of 133MHz, 125MHz 100Mhz, 83MHz, 80MHz, 66MHz, 62.5MHz, 50MHz, 33Mhz, and 25MHz. To perform system overdrive and underdrive testing, the device also offers a selectable output-frequency margin of ±5% to ±10%.
The MAX9489 operates from a 3.3V single supply and a 25MHz crystal or reference clock. The device is offered in a small-footprint, 5mm x 5mm 32-pin QFN package, and operates over the extended temperature range (-40 Degrees Celsius to +85 degrees Celsius). Prices start at $6.77 (1000-up, FOB USA).
Purchase of I2C components from Maxim Integrated Products, Inc., or one of its sublicensed Associated Companies, conveys a license under the Philips I2C Patent Rights to use these components in an I2C system, provided that the system conforms to the I2C Standard Specification as defined by Philips.
