INDUSTRY'S LOWEST ON-RESISTANCE ANALOG SWITCHES GUARANTEE 0.5 OHM RON AT +5V

SUNNYVALE, CA—February 3, 2000—Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX4624/MAX4625/MAX4626/MAX4627/MAX4628, the industry's lowest on-resistance (RON) low-voltage analog switches. The MAX4626/ MAX4627/MAX4628 feature 0.5 ohm RON max at +5V and come in a single-pole/single-throw (SPST) configuration. The MAX4624/MAX4625 have 1 ohm max RON at +5V and come in a single-pole/double-throw (SPDT) configuration. Flatness is 0.10 ohm for the SPST devices and 0.15 ohm for the SPDT parts. These devices operate from a single +1.8V to +5.5V supply, making them suitable for use in portable equipment.

The MAX4624/MAX4625/MAX4626/MAX4627/MAX4628 are also ideal for use as low-voltage relay replacements. Continuous current through the SPST switches is ±400mA with a peak current of ±800mA (pulsed at 1ms, 10% duty cycle max). These switches feature overcurrent protection to prevent damage from short circuits and excessive loads.

The devices feature fast switching speeds of 50ns tON and 50ns tOFF at +5V. The MAX4624 features break-before-make switching, and the MAX4625 features make-before-break switching. The MAX4626 is normally open (NO), the MAX4627 is normally closed (NC), and the MAX4628 has one NO and one NC input. The switches are TTL/CMOS logic compatible when powered from a +5V supply.

The MAX4624/MAX4625/MAX4628 are available in a 6-pin SOT23 package, and the MAX4626/MAX4627 are available in a 5-pin SOT23 package. All are available in the extended temperature range (-40°C to +85°C). Prices start from $0.95 for the MAX4624/MAX4625/MAX4628 and from $0.90 for the MAX4626/MAX4627 (2500-up, FOB USA).
