MAX15027, MAX15028 -- Tiny, 1A/500mA LDO regulators operate from 1.425V to 3.6V and dissipate up to 1.9W at +70°C

SUNNYVALE, CA—July 6, 2009—Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX15027–MAX15030 low-dropout (LDO) linear regulators that operate from a 1.425V to 3.6V input voltage and deliver up to 1A (MAX15027/MAX15028) or 500mA (MAX15029/MAX15030) of output current. In addition, the MAX15028/MAX15030 feature a bias input that allows the devices to be powered from an independent supply, making them suitable for always-on power supplies in automotive applications. The bias input allows the regulator's input to reduce current to a mere 2µA (max) during shutdown. This family of power-saving LDO regulators can dissipate up to 1.9W at +70°C and is ideal for a wide array of applications, including networking, storage, server, and telecom equipment.

MAX3518 -- Industry's lowest power upstream amplifier for DOCSIS 3.0

SUNNYVALE, CA—July 2, 2009—Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX3518, a DOCSIS® 3.0 upstream amplifier that combines the industry's lowest power consumption with optimal distortion performance. This device consumes a mere 1.25W when configured for 31dB of gain and +64dBmVOUT. Moreover, it consumes an ultra-low 25mW in transmit-disabled mode, while achieving a low, 10dB noise figure and 60dBc of harmonic distortion. The MAX3518's industry-low power consumption reduces power-supply requirements and extends battery life in battery-backup systems, thus making it ideal for cable and VoIP modems.

MAX11040 -- 4-channel, simultaneous-sampling 24-bit ADC is cascadable to 32 channels for unprecedented simplicity in system design

SUNNYVALE, CA—June 25, 2009—Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX11040 4-channel, 24-bit simultaneous-sampling ADC. Developed to enable unprecedented simplicity in system design, up to eight MAX11040 devices can be daisy-chained to provide a sampling capacity of up to 32 channels. The MAX11040 achieves this high capacity and scalability with a unique cascadable SPI™/QSPI™/MICROWIRE™ interface, which eliminates the complexity of using individual chip-select inputs to control each ADC. Because all eight MAX11040 devices can be accessed using only a single chip-select input, from the host processor's point of view, the control logic remains the same regardless if there are only 4 or as many as 32 channels.

SUNNYVALE, CA—June 24, 2009—Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX7036 very-low-IF, superheterodyne receiver for ASK/OOK data in the 300MHz to 450MHz frequency range. Only requiring a few external components to implement a complete receiver-chain solution, this device integrates an LNA; self-contained PLL block; 400kHz IF filter with RSSI; and analog baseband, data-recovery circuitry. To ensure excellent, consistent receiver sensitivity of -109dBm, these critical blocks have been designed to operate over the -40°C to +105°C temperature range. The MAX7036 is ideal for applications such as remote keyless-entry systems, car alarms, home security systems, remote controls, and garage door openers.

MAX9669 -- Highly integrated, 10-bit programmable gamma and VCOM reference system with nonvolatile memory

SUNNYVALE, CA—June 22, 2009—Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX9669, a low-cost, 16-channel, gamma-correction reference system with integrated nonvolatile (NV) memory. Offering 16 programmable gamma-correction outputs and one voltage reference for VCOM adjustment, this highly integrated device minimizes solution cost in TFT-LCDs. The MAX9669 can eliminate multiple discrete components including a digital variable resistor, VCOM amplifier, gamma buffers, resistor strings, and a high-voltage linear regulator. The high-voltage linear regulator is not needed because the on-chip, 10-bit DAC contains a lowpass filter that reduces the horizontal line frequency noise by 50dB. Additionally, the MAX9669 has nonvolatile, multiple-time programmable (MTP) memory that supports up to 100 write operations of gamma and VCOM values to the chip, thus eliminating the need for external EEPROM. A low-cost gamma-correction solution, the MAX9669 is ideal for LCD-based TVs, notebook PCs, and monitors.
