Filters
Maxim offers low-pass filters specifically designed for standard-definition (SDTV), extended-definition (EDTV), and high-definition (HDTV) resolutions. All of the video filters have integrated amplifiers with gain from 2V/V to 4V/V.
When the low-pass filter is placed before an analog-to-digital converter (ADC), then it serves as an anti-alias filter to remove high-frequency noise above the Nyquist frequency. When it is placed after the digital-to-analog converter (DAC), then it serves as a reconstruction filter to remove images at harmonics of the DAC sample clock.
