Crypto iButtons, which contains copyrighted software, are licensed rather than sold. Depending on the application, they may be subject to export or import restrictions according to the regulations of a specific country because of the strong cryptography.
ES waiver: Each Java-powered crypto iButton is tested before it leaves our factory, and meets the data sheet standards. However the module has not been fully qualified under the standard procedures dictated by our Quality and Reliability Assurance program. Temporarily the product is sold as a demonstration product and reference design. Once the product finishes the QA testing the ES waiver will no longer be required.
For these reasons, you must fill out the click-through license agreement below before we can license the crypto iButton. If you do not fill out a click-through license, the order will not be processed.
Before the crypto iButton can be issued, you must do the following:
- Read the Export Notice statement below and agree to its terms
- Verify that you are not on the U.S. Treasury Department's list of Specially Designated Nationals (http://www.treas.gov/ofac/t11sdn.pdf) or the U.S. Commerce Department's Table of Denial Orders (http://www.bis.doc.gov/dpl/Default.shtm)
- Complete the questionnaire and license acceptance below, verifying your name, address, e-mail, and point of receipt
All applications for crypto iButtons are subject to approval by Dallas Semiconductor.
