This web page has been designed to detect your Microsoft® Windows® operating system type: 32-bit or 64-bit. After a few seconds, text should appear in the text box below indicating which operating system type is running on the computer viewing this web page.
If you do not see text appear in the above text box indicating your system type, then check to see if your computer system meets the following requirements:
- A Windows operating system is installed.
- JavaScript™ is turned on. This is on by default for most browsers.
- Version 1.5 or above of Java™ is installed. Visit www.java.com to download the lastest version of Java or to verify that you have the latest version installed.
- This web page uses a signed Java applet to aid in discovering the operating system type. You may be prompted to accept a certificate of trust before the applet will run.
If you have any troubles with this page, you can determine your system type manually. To do so, click on the Windows "Start" menu button, followed by the "Run" button. Then, type "cmd" at the prompt and click the "OK" button. This will bring up a command prompt window. Type "systeminfo" followed by the enter key. When your system information finishes printing to the screen, scroll up until you find the entry "System Type:". The string next to it will have "X86-based PC" in it for 32-bit systems or "x64-based PC" for 64-bit systems.
