Java-Powered Ring Download Site

Last Updated: 7-27-98 9:35 AM

How to run this demo:

1. Download the JavaTM Plug-IN (Internet Explorer should do this automatically, Netscape will take you to the download site)
For best results, allow the plug-in to download to the default directory. If browser does not automatically find the plug-in, go to sun's site to download the latest version of the plug-in.

2. Next: Download and install our drivers

Windows: download our setup program from our FTP site and run it.

Solaris: download our tar.gz file, unzip it, and run the enclosed script inst.

Without the setup files, you will see 'error:null' or 'Applet jibLoader notinited' at the bottom, and to the right the message "Loading Applet..." will not disappear.

3. To finish the installation, shut down your browser. The next time you start your browser, you will be able to run this program.

View the source code and descriptions (in a new browser) for the JiBlets available for download and their Host Programs.

Note for Internet Explorer 4.0 Users: Please make sure you are browsing in a new process. You can do this by going to VIEW - INTERNET OPTIONS - ADVANCED. In the Advanced window, under BROWSING, make sure the box beside the option BROWSE IN A NEW PROCESS is checked.

Note for Solaris Users: There is a bug in the JavaTM Plug-In that does not update the drop-down choice boxes correctly. If you move or resize your browser window, or if the drop-down boxes stop responding, please hit the RELOAD button.

Note for Windows NT Users: If using a Serial Port (a DS9097U-9 adapter), your COM ports must have FIFO ENABLED turned off. This can be done in the Control Panels-Ports-Settings-Advanced window. You will need to restart the computer.
