Active Emissions Limiting

Along with spread-spectrum modulation, Maxim's third-generation Class D audio amplifiers employ the new, patent-pending active emissions limiting (AEL) circuitry. Narrow-band spectral components are further reduced without degrading the audio performance.

AEL intelligently optimizes the output-FET gate transitions to provide both excellent EMI performance and high efficiency. See Application Note 3973 (Maxim's Active-Emissions-Limiting (AEL) Circuitry Demystified) for more information.
