ASIC Success Stories

Over the past 30 years, Maxim has produced over 1000 ASICs.

Some examples of satisfied customers:

Rockwell Collins--Uses an RF Dual-Downconverter ASIC in Their Handheld GPS Receiver

Rockwell Collins GPS technology pioneer, Rockwell Collins, has introduced a new generation handheld receiver--the PLGR 2 (Precision Lightweight GPS Receiver). Rockwell Collins and Maxim developed the receiver's RF dual downconverter IC on Maxim's GST-2 process. The ASIC, a complete front end, provided L1/L2 dual-frequency tracking with an integrated synthesizer and I/Q demodulator.

Ericsson--Uses a Dedicated Chipset in Their 1900MHz Wireless-System Enterprise Networks

Ericsson The Ericsson DCT1900, based on the EIA/TIA 622 PWT1900 standard (similar to the European DECT Standard), is the most advanced business wireless system on the market today. The system provides advanced wireless PBX and Centrex business service. It uses a Maxim chipset that includes a complete RF transceiver with an LNA, and a highly integrated IF section with image reject, mixer, and RSSI.
