An analog switch is connected as shown. A 1K load is attached to outputs C and D, and a voltage is connected to A and B. The diagram depicts the switches in the positions for the signal that is presently applied (i.e., IN2=1, IN1=0).

Questions:

1. If the battery is 3 volts, what is the voltage at the output?

2. If the battery is reversed, what is the voltage at the output?

3. What practical value is there for this circuit?

4. Could you accomplish the same thing with diodes and if so, what would be the advantages or disadvantages?

5. Since V+ and Ground come from the outputs and not directly from the battery, how can the circuit operate when the battery is first reversed?
