Description
The MAX9562/MAX9563 provide a fully integrated solution for reconstruction filtering and amplification of standard-definition video signals. Maxim’s DirectDrive™: technology eliminates the need for large output-coupling capacitors by level-shifting the black level or blank level of the video signal to ground. The video inputs of the devices are high-impedance, which allows them to be directly connected to video digital-to-analog converters (DACs).
Internal reconstruction filters smooth the steps and reduce the spikes on the video signals from the DACs. The reconstruction filters feature 3dB attenuation at 10MHz and 50dB attenuation at 27MHz, with ±:1dB passband flatness to 5.5MHz.
These devices utilize Maxim’s DirectDrive technology to allow DC-coupling of the output signal. An integrated charge pump and linear regulator produce a low-noise negative supply voltage for the video amplifiers. Each video amplifier provides a fixed gain of +6dB. The black level or blank level of each video signal is level-shifted to ground, eliminating the need for large external AC-coupling capacitors. The video amplifier outputs are capable of directly driving 150Ω loads.
The MAX9562/MAX9563 provide filtering and amplification of two and three channels, respectively. All devices operate from a 2.7V to 3.6V single supply, and feature a 10nA low-power shutdown mode.
The MAX9562 is available in the 16-pin QSOP package and the MAX9563 is available in the 20-pin QSOP package. All devices are specified over the -40°C to +85°C extended temperature range.
