1kB SERIAL EEPROM OPERATES FROM SINGLE-CONTACT 1-WIRE INTERFACE
SUNNYVALE, CA-May 11, 2004-Dallas Semiconductor
(NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the DS2431, 1kb 1-Wire® EEPROM. The
1-Wire interface multiplexes all the communication signals required to read or write to the DS2431, together with the means to power the chip, onto a single I/O pin. This enables the designer to easily embed the device in applications such as medical and IEEE 1451.44-compliant sensors, accessories, and peripherals where electrical contacts are limited or minimizing wiring complexity is necessary. Programmable features include write protection and an OTP EPROM mode which is useful to gauge the consumption of a nonreplenishable consumable or to keep a running count of use events with a limited-use product.
The DS2431 operates from 2.8V to 5.25V over the extended temperature range (-40°C to +85°C), and is available in tiny 6-pin TSOC and UCSP packages.
1-Wire is a registered trademark of Dallas Semiconductor.
UCSP is a trademark of Maxim Integrated Products, Inc.
