FIRST LOW-POWER, ANALOG TEMPERATURE SENSOR AND INTEGRATED VOLTAGE REFERENCE

SUNNYVALE, CA-May 30, 2002-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX6610/MAX6611, the first precision, low-power, analog temperature sensors with integrated voltage references, making them ideal for HVAC, industrial, and medical applications.

The MAX6610/MAX6611 are designed to be used directly with ADCs, providing a voltage reference scaled in convenient ADC bit weights. The MAX6610 operates from 3.0V to 5.5V and has a voltage reference of 2.560V, while the MAX6611 operates from 4.5V to 5.5V and provides a voltage reference of 4.096V.

The MAX6610/MAX6611 scaling provides convenient ADC output codes. An 8-bit ADC's LSB is equal to 1°C, while a 10-bit ADC's LSB is equal to 0.25°C. Each product is available in a tiny 6-pin SOT23 package.

The MAX6610/MAX6611 utilize a proprietary design to provide a voltage reference temperature coefficient of ±10ppm (typ). The maximum supply current is 250µA during normal operation and a low-current shutdown mode reduces the current to a maximum of 1µA.

Operating temperature range is from -40°C to +125°C. Prices start at $0.80 (2500-up, FOB USA).
