LOWEST POWER PWM TEMPERATURE SENSORS AVAILABLE IN TINY SC70 PACKAGES
SUNNYVALE, CA-October 2, 2001-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX6666 and MAX6667 digital temperature sensors, housed in tiny 3-pin SC70 packages. Temperature data is encoded in the duty cycle of the output waveform and interfaces easily with a single microprocessor or microcontroller I/O port.
Both devices measure temperature with ±1°C accuracy from +10°C to +50°C, ±3°C accuracy from -40°C to +125°C, and ±5°C accuracy from +125°C to +150°C.
The MAX6666 has an open-drain output and the MAX6667 has a push-pull output. Both devices have a nominal 35Hz output frequency.
The MAX6666/MAX6667 operate with a supply voltage between 2.4V and 5.5V and an average supply current of 250µA (typ). By powering the devices with an I/O port, they can be easily powered down, conserving power.
Prices start at $2.75 (2500-up, FOB USA).
