TINY MULTIMEDIA SWITCHES FEATURE -80dB OFF-ISOLATION
SUNNYVALE, CA-September 7, 1999-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX4584-MAX4587 family of serial-interface switches and muxes that feature excellent frequency-response characteristics ideal for use in high-performance audio/video applications. For audio applications (20kHz), off-isolation is -80dB and crosstalk is -77dB. For video applications (10MHz), off-isolation is -68dB and crosstalk is -70dB.
These products operate from a single +2.7V to +5.5V supply and feature low 65 ohms max on-resistance at 5V. The channels are matched at 4 ohms between channels and feature 5 ohms flatness.
The MAX4584/MAX4585 each contain one normally open (NO) single-pole/single-throw (SPST) switch and one single-pole/double-throw (SPDT) switch. The MAX4586/MAX4587 are configured as four- to one-channel multiplexers. The MAX4584/MAX4586 use a 2-wire, I2C-compatible serial interface, whereas the MAX4585/MAX4587 use a 3-wire, SPI™/QSPI™/MICROWIRE™-compatible interface.
The MAX4584–MAX4587 are available in tiny 10-pin 181;MAX packages guaranteed to operate over the full extended-industrial temperature range (-40°C to +85°C). Prices start from $1.12 (1000-up, FOB USA) for the MAX4584/MAX4585 and from $1.26 (1000-up, FOB USA) for the MAX4586/MAX4587.
