±50µV MAX OFFSET, LOW-DRIFT OP AMPS FIT IN TINY SOT23 PACKAGE

SUNNYVALE, CA-September 17, 2001-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX4236/MAX4237 very high-precision op amps that do NOT use a chopper-based architecture. These devices achieve excellent offset voltage (50µV max at +25°C) and very low offset voltage drift over temperature (5µV/°C max) in a tiny SOT23 package. This combination of very small size, low cost, and high-precision DC accuracy makes these parts ideal for strain gauge, Piezoelectric sensor, and other instrumentation amplifier applications. For even higher accuracy, the µMAX and SO packages are offered as "A" and "B" grades with the A grade offset spec of only 20µV max at +25°C and only 2µV/°C max offset drift.

These devices feature an open-loop gain of 128dB with CMRR and PSRR of 100dB and 120dB, respectively. These amplifier outputs typically swing within a few milivolts of either rail driving a 100kΩ load and their input common-mode range extends 200mV below ground. They operate from a single-supply voltage from +2.4V to +5.5V and consume only 350µA of supply current. For power conservation, they offer a low-power shutdown mode that reduces the quiescent current to 0.1µA.

The MAX4236 is unity-gain stable with a gain-bandwidth product of 1.7MHz. The MAX4237 is internally compensated for gains of +5V/V or greater with a gain-bandwidth product of 7.5MHz. All devices are specified for the extended-industrial temperature range (-40°C to +85°C). Prices for the SOT23 parts are a low $0.65 (2500-up, factory direct, FOB USA).
