0.4% SOT23 SERIES REFERENCES NOW OFFER 1.8V AND 2.048V OUTPUT OPTIONS

SUNNYVALE, CA-September 4, 2001-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the 1.8V output voltage MAX6100 and the 2.048V output voltage MAX6106. These devices are additions to the popular MAX6100–MAX6106 family of low-cost, low-dropout, low-power, series-mode voltage references. Available in 3-pin SOT23 packages, these voltage references are intended for cost-sensitive portable power systems requiring precision and small size. Proprietary curvature-correction circuits and laser-trimmed thin-film resistors provide 0.4% initial accuracy along with a 75ppm/° C temperature coefficient over the extended operating temperature range (-40° C to +85° C).

These series-mode voltage references draw a maximum of only 125µA of supply current and can source 5mA and sink 2mA of load current. Unlike conventional shunt-mode (two-terminal) references, they offer a supply current that is virtually independent of supply voltage, while requiring no external resistor. Furthermore, these internally compensated devices do not require an external capacitor and are stable at up to 1µF load capacitance.

These voltage references are available with voltage options of 1.25V, 1.8V, 2.048V, 2.5V, 3V, 4.096V, and 5V. The 2.5V and higher voltage options operate with an input voltage range from (VOUT + 200mV) to 12.6V. The 1.25V, 1.8V, and 2.048V output versions require a minimum of 2.5V input. Prices start at $0.55 (1000-up, FOB USA).
