SMALLEST 5th-ORDER FILTER DOES 40kHz ON ONLY 2.5mA
SUNNYVALE, CA—November 7, 2000—Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX7418MAX7425 fifth-order, switched-capacitor, lowpass filters. These Bessel, Butterworth, and Elliptic filters are available in Maxims 8-pin µMAX (50% smaller than an 8-pin SOIC), making them the industrys smallest fifth-order switched capacitor filters. Operating from a single supply of +5V (MAX7422MAX7425) or +3V (MAX7418MAX7421), these filters support corner frequencies as high as 40kHz while consuming only 2.5mA. When in shutdown, quiescent current drops to 0.2µA.
Available filter types include Butterworth (MAX7420/MAX7424), Bessel (MAX7419/MAX7423), and Elliptic (transition ratio of 1.6: MAX7420/MAX7422; transition ratio of 1.25: MAX7421/MAX7425). Corner frequencies are clock-tunable for 1Hz to 40kHz, with a clock-to-corner ratio of 100. Two clocking options are available: self-clocking (through the use of an external capacitor) or external clocking for tighter cutoff-frequency control. Their low output offset (±4mV) may be adjusted via an offset-adjust pin.
The MAX7418MAX7425 are available in 8-pin µMAX packages in both the commercial (0°C to +70°C) and extended industrial (-40°C to +85°C) temperature ranges. Prices start at $1.98 (1000-up, FOB USA).
