ULTRA-FAST, 1.2ns COMPARATOR IN 8-PIN µMAX WITH ECL OUTPUTS AND LATCH-ENABLE
SUNNYVALE, CA—October 5, 2000—Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX9691MAX9693 ultra-fast comparators with guaranteed 1.8ns (1.3ns typ) signal propagation delay in space-saving 8-pin µMAX packages. The combination of drive capability for 50-ohm terminated transmission lines and complementary ECL output logic, as well as refreshing input signals in excess of 600MHz, make these comparators ideal for a variety of high-speed applications for communications and instrumentation.
These comparators operate from a split supply voltage of +5.0V and -5.2V. The complementary output signals are matched to within 100ps. In the MAX9692 single-channel and the MAX9693 dual-channel comparator, a latch-enable (LE) function is provided to allow each comparator to be used in a sample-hold mode. When LE is ECL high, the comparator functions normally. The latch setup time is 0.5ns. The single comparator, MAX9691, is offered without the latch-enable (LE) function.
The MAX9691 is offered in space-saving 8-pin µMAX packages while the MAX9692 and MAX9693 are offered in the 10-pin µ MAX and QSOP packages, respectively. All devices are offered in standard SO and PDIP packages. Prices start from $2.49 (1000-up, FOB USA).
