COMPARATOR PLUS 0.4%/6ppm/°C REFERENCE IN TINY SOT23

SUNNYVALE, CA—June 29, 2000—Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX9041A/MAX9051A micropower comparators with Rail-to-Rail inputs and outputs, plus an onboard precision reference, available in a 6-pin SOT23 package. Ideal for battery voltage monitoring, these precision devices maximize battery life by eliminating the premature end-of-life readings common in voltage monitors with large error. These devices offer a 0.4% initial accuracy with a 6ppm/°C temperature coefficient and a fast 400ns propagation delay, while consuming a miserly 40µA of supply current. The reference can drive 500µA and is stable with any capacitive load up to 4.7nF.

The MAX9041A operates from a +2.5V to +5.5V supply and provides a reference voltage of 2.048V, which represents a 500µV LSB in 12-bit systems. The MAX9051A operates from a +2.7V to +5.5V supply and provides a 2.500V reference voltage. Both comparators feature internal hysteresis and crowbar current limiting, which reduces current consumption when switching at high frequencies. Prices start from $1.19 (1000-up, FOB USA).
