Pin compatible with the MXL1543B/MXL1544/MXL1344 chipset, the MAX13170E/MAX13172E/MAX13174E achieve higher V.35 and V.11 data rates and provide enhanced ESD protection. Maxim's next-generation, BiCMOS process technology enables this chipset to maximize data throughput while integrating robust ESD structures. SUNNYVALE, CA—August 7, 2008—Maxim Integrated Products (PINK OTC MARKETS: MXIM) introduces the MAX13170E multiprotocol data transceiver, the MAX13172E multiprotocol clock transceiver, and the MAX13174E* multiprotocol termination IC. These three devices form a multiprotocol transceiver chipset that supports V.28 (RS-232), V.10/V.11 (RS-449/V.36, EIA-530, EIA-530A, X.21), and V.35 protocols. Designed using Maxim's next-generation, BiCMOS process technology, this chipset is a pin-compatible upgrade for the MXL1543B/MXL1544/MXL1344 chipset. The MAX13170E/MAX13172E/MAX13174E achieve higher V.35 and V.11 data rates (up to 20Mbps) and provide enhanced ESD protection, making them ideal for telecommunication, data networking/routing, and PCI™ card applications.

The MAX13170E/MAX13172E/MAX13174E operate from a single 5V supply, and are fully specified over the 0°C to +70°C commercial temperature range. The MAX13170E/MAX13172E are available in a 28-pin SSOP package, while the MAX13174E is packaged in 24-pin SSOP. Prices start at $5.13 (1000-up, FOB USA).
