GPS RECEIVER IC ALLOWS <0.5m ACCURACY AND 5ns TIMING RESOLUTION
SUNNYVALE, CA—May 26, 2000—Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX2740 GPS Receiver IC. This receiver offers the best timing resolution (5ns) accuracy and the most competitive positional accuracy (<0.5m) in the industry. Typical GPS receivers have a 300ns timing resolution and a positional accuracy of >1 meter.
The MAX2740 is a complete GPS/GLONASS receiver from antenna to digitizer input. It allows the use of a multilevel digitizer for high receiver sensitivity and good immunity to in-channel jammers. Including all filter losses, the total receiver gain is >100dB with >50dB of automatic gain-control range. Using a unique frequency plan, the MAX2740 is suitable for joint GPS/GLONASS receivers with minimal external components.
