Industry's Smallest, Single-Conversion Tuner for Mobile TV Achieves Lowest BOM

SUNNYVALE, CA—November 8, 2007—Maxim Integrated Products (Pink Sheets: MXIM) introduces the MAX2165 highly integrated, single-conversion tuner for DVB-H, mobile TV applications. This tuner achieves the industry's lowest external bill-of-materials (BOM) in the smallest package by integrating all of the tuning functions along with an RF-tracking filter; low-noise amplifier; transmit-reject notch filter; and programmable baseband, lowpass channel-selection filters into a small, 5mm x 5mm, 28-pin TQFN. High integration in a small package makes the MAX2165 ideal for cell phones and other handheld devices.

The MAX2165 consumes only 21mW of power at 8% duty cycle, covers a 470MHz to 780MHz UHF-signal range, and operates from a single 2.85V supply. It is fully compliant with MBRAI and Nordig requirements, and is specified to operate over the -40°C to +85°C extended temperature range. Prices start at $4.00 (1000-up, FOB USA).
